"Take 14 dogs, 55 products, 12 non-professional 'models' and in two days have the most incredible library of marketing images. I showed up with the who, what, when and Parlee jumped right in with HOW. She listened to my workds and both styled and shot THE signature photo that was in my mind's eye. Don found his 'inner dog' and communicated canine-style to capture all the product shots with great attitude. Everything at Studio Chambers is so well organized and orchestrated, that it feels more like a day at the beach instead of a day at work."
"I have a personal mission to eventually show up at Don's studio with a prop so bizarre, he's totally stumped on how to make it work with my ugly mug. So far, some celery, meat balloons, my motorcycle, 100 post-it notes, a dead fish and 12 strawberries have all become, through Don's vision, some seamless extension of me. I find there aren't all that many real collaborative creatives out there but when Don and I work together, a killer outcome is a sure bet. And he tolerates my dog Matilda, as both a prop and a guest."
"It's a rare combination when you can count on getting a great shot and having a helluva lot of fun in the process. You get that with Don."
"It is not my standard practice to go from booking a photographer to releasing final artwork in just a few days, nor do I make a habit of showing up for a photo shoot with yet-to-be finalized concepts in-hand. Add to all this, that the shoot had to happen in a city which I had yet to have the pleasure of visiting, with a photographer who I had yet had the pleasure of meeting, and I found myself with more than my average amount of uncertainty. Despite it all, Don Chambers and his resourceful staff delivered fantastic work. Don's talent, energy, and efficiency carried the day. Most of all, he made the job fun."
"We have always described Don to our clients in terms of the 'seen and unseen.' Readily seen in the finished shots are his creativity and talented eye. But the unseen is a little less obvious. Aside from Parlee and Don's crew providing tireless preparation, Don has the ability to take a difficult environment and make it beautiful. It is impressive how he handles CEOs, management, models and everyday people in front of the camera and all with the utmost comfortable professionalism."
"Don Chambers was chosen by Paragraphs Design for the Sun Trust 2005 Annual Report. Having worked with various firms for over 20 years we found Don and his team to be extremely cooperative, professional and enthusiastic throughtout the entire process. The end result was an award-winning annual that both the client and the design firm were proud of."
"Don Chambers is family. Everyone's family. Work is work, but Don makes it personal. Don makes it fun. Good food, good music, good conversation and good laughs. And most importantly, good work. Consistently. Don is always on. In every respect. Always a sad moment when the last shot is fired off. Work with Don. Make a new friend."

Somewhere in time, right after surf woodies were still easily spotted on Pacific Coast Hwy and substantially before Valley Girls emerged, you would have found Don and Parlee Chambers growing up in Southern California: He on Manhattan Beach and she in the orange-groved San Fernando Valley. Back then, beach cottages merged with inland storefronts of deco design and, further in, fields and farms were gradually dotted by streets of post-WWII houses. Dirt boulevards and roadside stands, surfing long boards and hunting grunion aren't just a part of family lore but of their own memories. Raised by parents who were also born in LA, (back in the 1920's), the memories, spirit and roots of the very early California experience are very much a part of who they are.
Surprisingly, however, in the face of choosing the best city for a new commercial photography studio, the waves being made in Atlanta are what lured Don down to the "real" South. Success happened fast. Highly regarded photography, great people, 2 kids (Lily and Dustin) and the perfect dog, has made Atlanta home. To be sure, that bold move in '83 was a sweet decision.
Now, 24 years after freshly rolling onto Peachtree Street, and with the notable success of the former Pelosi & Chambers studio under their belt, Don and Parlee have created Studio Chambers. Located in Atlanta's historic Inman Park, the comfortable, state of the art, 4500 sq ft studio is an expression of all that has brought them to this new place in time.
Award-winning Don Chambers is known today for his dynamically honest people photography. His training at the Art Center College of Design followed by his 3 year stint of assisting back in Hollywood, prepared him well for the scope of production that often rolls into his studio. Perpetually energetic, Don is well known for bringing out the best of every person who steps in front of his lens. A more relaxed, cooperative and funny photographer you will be hard pressed to find.
Parlee Chambers has spent her lifetime in creative endeavor. Her many years of production, photography, painting, art direction and styling work making her someone you will be grateful to have handling the many facets of any project you might throw her way. She creates each still life with the heart of a painter, the eye of a stylist and a calm and easy attitude that both clients and crew appreciate. Every shoot and it's pre-production are bettered by her creative mindset, tip-top organization and the attention she pays to the needs of crew, agency and client.
With their years of collective experience, added to a perfectly matched crew, Don and Parlee make each advertising, editorial or annual report image count and ensure that the client sails home with exactly what they were looking for, and then some. At Studio Chambers, talent, skill and a happy atmosphere brew up amazing imagery.
No one gets anywhere in this world alone. We would especially like to thank the following wonderful people:
Steve Martin of Blue Ridge Design for his design work, the involvment of Josh Dempsey and Corporate Reports, and especially to Bartram Nason at subproduction for making things run.
All of our great crew members that appear in this period image of the Edgewood Avenue studio, including (from left to right): Dorothy O'Connor, our trusty studio queen (and talented photographer), Mandy Kibler, stylist to the stars, Dustin Chambers, the NEXT generation, Chris Parsons USA, who has deserted us for New York City, Mr. Bill Howard, oh we love you so. Next, that's Parlee. Next, you got it, that's Don. Halo the Golden, our Best Friend and studio mascot, Cannon Pearson, the Wizard, who composited, colorized and retouched all the old and new elements of this image.
